Scheme to Promote Voluntary Action for Persons with Disability (01-04-2003)

6) Project for the cerebral palsied children
7) Project for the Pre-school and early intervention and training

Scheme for Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP)

The main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons in procuring durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, standard aids and appliances that can promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhancing their economic potential. The scheme is implemented through the implementing agencies like voluntary organizations, National Institutes under the Ministry,   ALIMCO, Zilla Panchayats, DRDAs, etc. The implementing agencies are provided grant-in-aid for purchase, fabrication and distribution of aids and appliances. The scheme also includes under its ambit medical / surgical correction and intervention, which is essential prior to fitment of aids and appliances.

Pattern of assistance : - 90% of the project cost be borne by the GOI + 105 be met by the NGO.
