It has been long understood that Vocational Training is the most crucial component of rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities. Consequently, a series of Vocational Training Centres have been established throughout India. The overall aim of vocational training is to enhance vocational skills of disabled adolescents/adults leading to economic development. The existing Vocational Training Cenres are being run by both Government (Central and State) as well as Non-governmental Organizations. In these Vocational Training Centres, the training courses have been designed accordance to the requirements of the persons with disabilities. The most common vocational training courses include Computers, Carpentry, Welding, Fitter, Electrical, Embroidery, Book Binding, Brick Making, Weaving, Cutting and Tailoring, Candle Making, Printing at Printing Press and many more.
